On July 24, 2026, as part of the Bavarian Energy Days, the Hydrogen Mobility Day and Open House took place at Tyczka Hydrogen: at the Clean Tech Innovation Park at the public hydrogen refueling station in Hallstadt near Bamberg. Martin Zerta and Konstantin Frohnhöfer attended on behalf of LBST.
The full range of hydrogen-powered vehicles was on display, from passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks: the BMW iX5 Hydrogen, the Hyundai Nexo 2, the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell, and a Rygg NOVA. The refueling process could be followed live on site at the H2 filling station.
In addition to the vehicles, the event provided an opportunity for professional exchange with H2 technology suppliers and other industry stakeholders. Discussions with the Tyczka team showed how practical the use of hydrogen in heavy-duty transport has now become.
Tyczka Hydrogen is a partner of the H2HUB Initiative, which is driving the development of regional hydrogen ecosystems in Bavaria. A key topic of the day was the utilization of Bavaria’s H2 refueling infrastructure. The H2HUB Initiative is supporting haulage companies, businesses, and regional projects with the preparation of funding applications for H2 commercial vehicles under the Bavarian funding program BayH2N through October 28, 2026. The more vehicle operators switch to hydrogen, the better the filling stations in Bavaria can be utilized.
Our thanks go to the Tyczka Hydrogen team for organizing the event.
